Dove Christian Center had its beginnings some thirty-three years ago when a group of people began meeting in homes, with a desire to worship God and study His Word. This was during the time when the charismatic movement was emerging. Charismatic comes from the Greek word (khar'-is-mah) meaning "gifts". God was breathing on the land and it spawned a fresh desire to see Christ's body come alive.
There was a renewed desire to worship, to see the church functioning in the gifts of the Holy Spirit (I Cor. 12), and to see the body becoming healthy in spirit, soul and body by applying God's Word to their lives. This home group soon formed into a church and my wife Evelyn and I were invited to join them as their pastor, a position we still hold some thirty-three years later.
For years we met in rented facilities, and in 1999 we moved into our beautiful new facility located on 11 acres at the intersection of I90 & 190. The building has three main levels, with a prayer loft on the fourth which overlooks the city.
DCC has an excellent staff, and a host of volunteer workers who are here to minister and serve the whole family from cradle to seniors. We value our relationship with God and we value our relationship with each other. In this regard we are grateful that we have a host of people from different racial, cultural, ethnic & social backgrounds who manifest true Christian unity within our diversity.
While we are non-denominational, we don't consider ourselves to be sectarian or exclusive in our outlook. We have a desire to be in fellowship with the whole body of Christ; with all fellow believers who acknowledge the Lordship of our Champion, Jesus Christ.
We have an excellent worship team comprised of musicians and singers who are not only talented, but devoted to worshipping God with their whole hearts.
Come by and visit when you can, and if we can serve you in any way let us know and we'll do our best.
