WHAT WE BELIEVE

  1. Apostles & Prophets: We believe that the church is built upon the foundation of apostles and prophets with Jesus Christ being the Chief Cornerstone. Ephesians 2:20

  2. Baptism of the Holy Spirit: We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the primary source for empowerment in the life of every believer. Acts 1:8

  3. Baptism in Water: We believe that water baptism is enacted through the immersion and is an outward manifestation of the believer’s desire to identify with Jesus in His death, burial and resurrection. Matthew 28:19

  4. Bible: We believe the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, infallible Word of God and are profitable for guidance in every area of life, especially for teaching, reproof, correction and training in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16

  5. Church: We believe the church is a governmental assembly of believers who meet and live together as a spiritual community. Titus 1:5

  6. Family Life: We believe in marriage as an expression of covenant love made between a man and a woman to become one; that protection should take place in the context of covenant love, security, discipline and identity. We affirm we love the people indulging in unbiblical behaviors and will prayerfully assist those who are willing to repent and change their lifestyles. Romans 1:24-28

  7. Communion: We believe in celebrating the Lord’s Supper/Communion as a representation of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. 1 Corinthians 11:24-28

  8. Discipline: The intent of all discipline is to maintain order in the church, and to adjust and restore the one who is in violation of Scriptural mandates. Matthew 18:15-20

  9. Five-Fold Ministers: We believe that Jesus gave gifts (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers) to the Church to perfect or complete the church. Ephesians 4:8,11

  10. God: We believe in one God revealed in three persons: The Father, Jesus Christ His Son, and the Holy Spirit. Matthew 3:16-17

  11. Government: We believe that God’s form of government for His church is theocratic in nature. John 1:15

  12. Senior Elder: The term Senior Elder is synonymous with the terms “pastor/president” and he is the primary leader of the local church. The Senior Elder establishes the vision of the church and works with the elders in overseeing and fulfilling that vision.

  13. Headship: Biblical headship, when functioning correctly, establishes proper order, which provides an environment that is safe, whole and well-managed. Biblical headship is not abusive or self-serving. 1 Corinthians 11:3

  14. Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the third person of the triune Godhead. He convicts the world of sin, teaches us all things, brings to remembrance all that Jesus has said, comforts, helps, guides and empowers us to live the Christian life. John 14:16-17

  15. Kingdom of God: We believe that the Kingdom of God is the invisible sphere and the primary place where God’s authority, power and government are executed. Luke 17:21

  16. Man: We believe that God created man in His own image and that man’s purpose is to be restored to God and to glorify Him and serve Him through worship and obedience. Genesis 1:26, Romans 3:23-24

  17. Salvation: We receive salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ as we confess our sin to God, repent and recognize that Chris’s blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness. John 3:16, Romans 5:8-10, Romans 5:17-18

  18. Sin: We believe that man fell from his original sinless state through disobedience to the command of God and as a result incurred not only physical death but spiritual death. Therefore, man is in need of redemption through the blood of Jesus Christ in order to be brought back into a right relationship with God. Romans 3:23, 5:12, Ephesians 2:1-2
